 David Shallcross has recently been on holiday to the Outer Hebrides and has some wonderful slides of the stunning scenery, plant life and birds.  He has offered to give us a slide show in the near future, date to be announced.  Thank you, David.

 

 BEST WISHES

 

 We send our very best wishes to the Rev Stephen Lingwood, who begins his ministry at Bank Street Chapel, Bolton, on 1 September, and to the congregation.  While at Unitarian College, Stephen did a student pastorate at Bank Street alongside Brenda.  He has recently had a book published, which he has edited, called “The Unitarian Life.  Voices from the Past and Present”.  It is an excellent book and has been well received.  Copies available from Essex Hall.

 

 APOLOGIES to June Crowther, who became July in the last Calendar.  Too much trust in “Find and Replace”!  The first to find mistakes (deliberate or otherwise) in this one gets a free jar of strawberry jam.

 

 

 CHOWBENT RAMBLERS

 

 The next walk will be on Saturday, 16th August.  Meet at Chapel at 9.45 am or at the Lower Barn car park at Rivington at 10.15 am.  After the walk we will have lunch at the tea rooms.  All welcome.

 

 MEDITATION

 

 The Meditation Group will meet on Friday, 22nd August, in the meeting room in the hall.  We begin at 12 noon with a guided meditation, a time of quiet and relaxation led by Brenda and this is followed at 12.30 with a shared lunch.  Anyone is welcome to come along.  No experience needed.
